TON Strategy appoints Oscar Suarez to board as audit chair
TON Strategy Company (Nasdaq: TONX), a digital asset treasury company, has appointed Oscar Suarez to its board of directors as an independent director, effective Aug. 17, 2026. Suarez will also serve as chair of the company's audit committee.
Suarez brings more than 40 years of accounting, tax, and financial governance experience. He currently serves as an independent director and audit committee chair at Amerant Bancorp Inc.
He began his career at Arthur Andersen, specializing in audit and tax before moving into international banking tax. He later joined KPMG, where he became a partner in 1995, serving in roles including International Banking Tax Partner, Latin America Global Mobility Leader, and South Florida Tax Managing Partner.
At Ernst & Young LLP, Suarez was elected to the firm's U.S. Partner/Principal Council and Global Governance Council. He served as EY's Markets Leader for Florida and Puerto Rico, overseeing seven offices and approximately 2,000 professionals.
"Oscar brings more than four decades of experience across accounting, audit, ICFR, tax and corporate governance—exactly the kind of experience we want around the Board table," said Kevin Wilson, chief executive officer of TON Strategy Company.
Suarez has held a certified public accountant designation since 1982 and is an NACD Certified Director. He is active in the National Association of Corporate Directors and the Latino Corporate Directors Association.
TON Strategy focuses on accumulating Gram, the native cryptocurrency of Telegram's platform, formerly known as Toncoin, through capital raises, staking rewards, and open market purchases.
