Streamex names former Cantor Fitzgerald CEO to board

Streamex Corp. (NASDAQ: STEX) announced the appointment of Shawn Matthews to its board of directors as an independent director. Matthews previously served as CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald & Co. from 2009 through April 2018 and is currently founder and chief investment officer of Hondius Capital Management.
Matthews brings over 30 years of experience in global investment, trading, and executive leadership. Before becoming CEO at Cantor Fitzgerald, he held senior investment leadership roles including head of capital markets and head of mortgage trading at the firm.
"Shawn joins Streamex at a critical growth juncture bringing 30 years of high growth capital markets experience and connections to help accelerate our first-mover products," said Morgan Lekstrom, co-founder and executive chairman of Streamex, according to the company's press release.
Earlier in his career, Matthews worked as a fixed income derivatives trader and founded equity-focused hedge fund Alchemist Capital Management and fixed income broker-dealer West Side Capital. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Fairfield University and an MBA from Hofstra University.
Matthews stated he was "honored to join the Streamex Board at such a transformative moment for the financial markets," noting that Streamex has built infrastructure that bridges traditional finance and digital assets.
