Streamex co-founder shifts to independent director role

Streamex Corp. (NASDAQ: STEX) announced that Morgan Lekstrom, co-founder and Interim Executive Chairman, transitioned to the role of independent director, effective September 30, 2026.

Lekstrom will continue to serve on the board of directors and on certain board committees. The company described the move as a planned transition that was established when Lekstrom originally took on the interim role.

According to the company's statement, Lekstrom's priorities as Interim Executive Chairman included expanding the company's team, securing financing, and strengthening the balance sheet by reducing debt and restructuring the capital base.

Henry McPhie, co-founder and chief executive officer of Streamex, said in the announcement: "This transition was always the plan, and I am glad it keeps him close. I look forward to continuing to work with him as a director and fellow co-founder."

Lekstrom stated: "Serving as Interim Executive Chairman has been a privilege. My goals were to help Henry build out the remainder of our team, make sure Streamex was well financed, and strengthen our balance sheet by paying off debt."

Streamex describes itself as a technology and infrastructure company focused on the tokenization of commodity real-world assets.
