Standard Uranium adds Doug Engdahl to board, recognizes retiring directors
Standard Uranium Ltd. (TSXV: STND) announced the appointment of Doug Engdahl as a non-executive director, effective immediately, according to a company statement. The Vancouver-based uranium exploration company also recognized the departure of directors Neil McCallum and Zoya Shashkova.
Engdahl serves as president and CEO of Axiom Exploration Group Ltd., a global exploration consulting company with more than 140 professionals worldwide. He brings over 20 years of mineral exploration and mine operations experience, including 14 years in uranium with Cameco Corporation and AREVA/Orano. His experience includes work at the McArthur River Mine spanning advanced exploration and production.
The company granted Engdahl 250,000 restricted share units in connection with his appointment under its Omnibus Incentive Plan. The RSUs vest on December 18, 2026, and are subject to TSX Venture Exchange policies.
McCallum, one of the original directors when Standard Uranium was established in 2017, will transition to a new role as lead technical advisor. Shashkova served on the board for four years and participated on the audit committee.
Standard Uranium holds interest in over 235,435 acres in the Athabasca Basin in Saskatchewan, Canada. The company's Davidson River Project comprises ten mineral claims over 30,737 hectares in the southwest part of the basin. Its eastern Athabasca projects cover more than 43,185 hectares, while the Sun Dog project in the northwest basin encompasses nine mineral claims over 19,603 hectares.
