Somnigroup International appoints Christopher Cook as new board director

Somnigroup International Inc. (NYSE: SGI) appointed Christopher Cook as an independent director to its Board of Directors, effective September 30, 2025. The board expanded from seven to eight members to accommodate the appointment.

Cook brings more than 20 years of executive leadership experience in retail. He founded Sleep Experts, a specialty mattress retail chain, and served as its Chief Executive Officer from 2004 until Mattress Firm acquired the company in 2014. Following the acquisition, Cook worked as a strategic consultant to Mattress Firm's executive team until 2016 and served as a Mattress Firm director from 2018 until Somnigroup acquired Mattress Firm in early 2025.

Somnigroup describes itself as the world's largest bedding company, operating in more than 100 countries through brands including Tempur-Pedic, Sealy, Stearns & Foster, and Sleepy's. The company's portfolio includes Tempur Sealy, Mattress Firm and Dreams retail operations.
