SolarWindow Technologies Inc. (WNDW) appointed Francisco Javier Bono Perez to its board of directors, effective November 20. The appointment follows a $1 million capital investment from Silica Holding B.V., a European investment company where Bono serves as founding partner.

Silica focuses on advanced materials and technologies across glass, renewable energy, and defense sectors. The company invests in ultra-thin flexible solar, holographic optical elements, specialty coatings, and light-management technologies.

Bono brings 25 years of global experience in glass and solar production across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. He currently serves as president of international development at LandVac and vice president at LandGlass, companies involved in vacuum insulated glass technology and industrial glass manufacturing equipment.

"We welcome Mr. Bono to the SolarWindow team and are excited to leverage his global reach across the glass industry, including solar, architectural, automotive, and specialty fabricated glass," said Amit Singh, SolarWindow's CEO and president.

Bono's appointment increases SolarWindow's board membership to five directors. Singh joined the board in August 2025.

SolarWindow develops transparent electricity-generating coatings for glass and plastics that produce power under various light conditions including natural, artificial, low, shaded, and reflected light. The company targets applications in building windows, facades, automotive, commercial greenhouse, marine, and aerospace sectors.

"I've invested in SolarWindow knowing the very real potential to transform glass and plastic surfaces into meaningful sources of renewable energy," Bono stated.

The information is based on a company press release.
