Safety Shot acquires 10% revenue share in BONK.fun, reserves BNKK ticker
Safety Shot Inc. (NASDAQ: SHOT) acquired a 10% revenue sharing interest in BONK.fun, a decentralized platform on the Solana blockchain that enables users to create and launch meme coins. The company also reserved the ticker symbol "BNKK" with Nasdaq.
As part of the transaction, BONK founding core members, including Mitchell Rudy, will join Safety Shot's board of directors, comprising 50% of board seats. The revenue sharing interest and $25 million in BONK tokens served as consideration for a preferred stock transaction announced previously.
BONK.fun launched in April 2025 and allows users to create meme coins without coding expertise. The platform generated over $35 million in user fees during July 2025, placing it among the top 10 most profitable decentralized applications globally, according to DefiLlama data.
Safety Shot plans to reinvest approximately 90% of its BONK.fun revenue into a treasury of BONK tokens. The platform has facilitated launches of over 20,000 new tokens in single 24-hour periods on peak days, with daily trading volume exceeding $100 million.
"Acquiring a direct revenue stream from letsBONK.fun, welcoming the visionary BONK founding core team to our board, and reserving the 'BNKK' ticker symbol are clear and deliberate actions," said Jarrett Boon, CEO of Safety Shot.
BONK.fun operates by charging fees on platform activity as users create new tokens. The platform uses a portion of generated revenue to buy back and burn BONK tokens, creating buying pressure and reducing token supply.
Dominari Securities LLC served as Safety Shot's exclusive financial advisor for the transaction. Safety Shot maintains its beverage division, which holds patents for the Safety Shot beverage designed to reduce blood alcohol content and YerbaƩ energy beverages.
