SOL Strategies appoints new chairman, adds two board directors
SOL Strategies Inc. (CSE: HODL) (OTCQB: CYFRF) announced leadership changes to its board of directors, appointing Luis Berruga as chairman and adding two new directors.
The Canadian investment company focused on the Solana blockchain ecosystem said Tony Guoga will step down as chairman and transition to a strategic advisor role. Berruga, who joined the board in March 2025, previously served as CEO and chairman of Global X ETFs, where he oversaw growth to more than $80 billion in assets under management.
José Manuel Calderón joins as an independent director, bringing investment experience and Canadian market relationships from his 14-year NBA career with the Toronto Raptors. Michael Hubbard, the company's chief strategy officer, was also appointed to the board. Hubbard joined SOL Strategies through its acquisition of Laine's validator operations.
"This transition represents a pivotal moment in SOL Strategies' evolution as we position ourselves for accelerated growth and expanded market presence," said Leah Wald, CEO of SOL Strategies.
The company stated the appointments are designed to strengthen corporate governance and support growth strategy as it advances toward a Nasdaq listing. SOL Strategies operates validator infrastructure and makes strategic investments in the Solana ecosystem.
The information was provided in a company press release statement.
