Quince Therapeutics names Dr. Hassan Abolhassani to advisory board

Quince Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ: QNCX) announced the appointment of Dr. Hassan Abolhassani to its Scientific Advisory Board. Dr. Abolhassani serves as Assistant Professor of Clinical Immunology at the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden.

The appointment brings the company's advisory board to nine members with expertise in areas including Ataxia-Telangiectasia, biochemistry, neurology, immunology, genetics, hematology, pharmacology, and clinical practice.

Dr. Abolhassani leads pediatric primary immunodeficiency and inborn errors of immunity research at Karolinska Institutet. His research focuses on investigating the pathogenesis of primary antibody deficiency and includes work on diagnosis and treatment of Ataxia-Telangiectasia.

The appointment comes as Quince conducts a Phase 3 clinical trial for its lead asset eDSP for treating Ataxia-Telangiectasia. The company expects to report topline results in the first quarter of 2026.

Quince's advisory board provides guidance as the company considers expanding eDSP development to additional rare disease indications beyond Ataxia-Telangiectasia and Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The company has identified 11 potential rare disease targets under consideration, including autoimmune hepatitis, pulmonary sarcoidosis, dermatomyositis, and pediatric lupus.

Dr. Abolhassani received recognition as being among the top 1% of highly cited scientific researchers in immunology and the world's top 2% widely cited scientists. He holds an M.D. from Tehran University of Medical Sciences and a Ph.D. in clinical immunology from the Karolinska Institutet.

The South San Francisco-based biotechnology company focuses on developing treatments for rare diseases using what it describes as a patient's own biology.
