Quantum eMotion Corp. (NYSE American: QNC) (TSXV: QNC) has appointed Bernard Crotty as an independent director, effective September 30, 2026, according to a company statement.
Crotty previously served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Certicom Corp., a company focused on elliptic-curve cryptography that was acquired by Research In Motion, now BlackBerry Limited, in 2009. He also led Connetix Tiles, an identification and authentication company, and served as President of NorthWest Healthcare Properties REIT. Earlier in his career, he was a partner at McCarthy Tétrault LLP and counsel at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP.
"Having worked in cryptography and security technology, I appreciate both the potential of QeM's products and the work required to bring them to market," Crotty said.
In connection with his appointment, Crotty was granted 500,000 stock options to purchase common shares at an exercise price of $2.48 per share. The options carry a 10-year term and will vest equally on each monthly anniversary of the grant date over four years.
Separately, David Wayne Teeple resigned as a director of the corporation, also effective September 30, 2026. The company said Teeple is expected to continue supporting the corporation in other capacities.
