Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI) announced that its board of directors elected Brent Rosenthal as independent chair, effective immediately. Rosenthal succeeds Milena Alberti-Perez, who stepped down to focus on opportunities in the media sector.

Alberti-Perez served as independent chair and director during what the company described as a multi-year turnaround period. She joined the board in 2023 and currently serves on the boards of National Public Radio, Inc. and Scholastic Corp.

Rosenthal is founder of Mountain Hawk Capital Partners, LLC, an investment fund focused on small and microcap equities. He has more than 30 years of experience with technology, media and telecom companies. He currently serves on the boards of Horizon Kinetics Corporation, Syntec Optics Holdings, Inc. and several Puerto Rico closed-end mutual funds as lead independent director.

From 2002 to 2016, Rosenthal was a partner in affiliates of W.R. Huff Asset Management. Previously, he served as director of mergers and acquisitions for RSL Communications Ltd. and worked with emerging media companies at Deloitte & Touche LLP. He holds a bachelor's degree from Lehigh University and an MBA from Cornell University's S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management.

The company stated it will file additional details about the announcement with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Form 8-K. Pitney Bowes provides shipping solutions, mailing services and financial services to clients globally.
