Palisade Bio names Emil Chuang to board of directors

Palisade Bio, Inc. (NASDAQ: PALI) announced the appointment of Emil Chuang, MB BS FRACP, to its board of directors. The clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focuses on developing therapeutics for autoimmune, inflammatory, and fibrotic diseases.
Chuang brings nearly 25 years of pharmaceutical and clinical experience across large pharma, biotech, therapeutics, medical nutrition, and diagnostics sectors. His expertise spans preclinical translational medicine through Phase 1-4 clinical development. His leadership contributed to two regulatory approvals: infliximab for pediatric Crohn's disease and lorcaserin for morbid obesity.
The pediatric gastroenterologist previously served as Assistant Professor at Duke University and the University of Pennsylvania before transitioning to the pharmaceutical industry. His work includes contributions to inflammatory bowel disease programs, including infliximab and vedolizumab.

Chuang currently serves as Chief Medical Officer at Intrinsic Medicine, a privately held biotechnology company, and leads Chuang Global Consulting, his independent advisory firm. His previous roles include Head of GI Clinical Development for Nestlé Health Science, Head of GI Translational Research and Early Clinical at Takeda, and Head of GI Precision Medicine at Progenity.
He has authored more than 80 peer-reviewed publications, abstracts, and book chapters throughout his career. Chuang received his medical degree from the University of Sydney, Australia and completed pediatrics specialty training in Australia before moving to the United States for subspecialty training in pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition.
