PPL Corporation (NYSE: PPL) announced that Kenneth M. Hartwick will join its Board of Directors effective July 1, 2026, according to a company statement.
Hartwick will serve on the board's People and Compensation Committee and Finance Committee. His appointment brings the total number of PPL directors to 10, including nine independent directors and the company's chief executive officer.
Hartwick most recently served as president and chief executive officer of Ontario Power Generation from 2019 to 2025, where he oversaw nuclear, natural gas combined-cycle, hydroelectric, and solar operations, as well as major generation investments. Before that role, he served as Ontario Power Generation's chief financial officer and held executive positions at Wellspring Financial Corporation, Just Energy Group, and Hydro One. He began his career at Ernst & Young, where he became a partner advising energy and utilities clients.
Hartwick currently chairs the board of MYR Group Inc. and serves on the boards of Denison Mines Corp., the Independent Electricity System Operator of Ontario, and the Investment Management Corporation of Ontario.
Craig A. Rogerson, independent chair of PPL's board, said Hartwick's experience as both a utility chief executive and chief financial officer, along with his financial and risk management background, would support the company's strategy.
PPL is headquartered in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and serves more than 3.6 million electricity and natural gas customers in the U.S.
