POET Technologies appoints Sohail Khan as director

POET Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: POET) announced Monday the appointment of Sohail Khan as director and member of the Corporate Governance & Nominating Committee. The appointment was effective July 7, 2025.
Khan brings experience from high technology firms, including roles as Executive Vice President at Coherent Corp. and President & CEO of ViXS Systems Inc. He previously served on the Board of Directors of LightPath Technologies for 16 years and was a member of the Board of Intersil Corporation.
The appointment follows the retirement of Chris Tsiofas, who served as Chair of the Audit Committee for 13 years and decided not to stand for re-election at the company's Annual and Special Meeting on June 27, 2025. With Khan's addition, POET's Board now consists of six members.
In connection with his appointment, Khan received 21,200 restricted stock units (RSUs) that will vest on the first anniversary of the grant. The RSUs were valued using a per share price of CAD$7.70, the closing price on the TSX Venture Exchange on July 4, 2025.
POET Technologies designs and develops optical modules, optical engines and light source products for artificial intelligence systems and hyperscale data centers. The company's products are based on the POET Optical Interposer platform, which integrates electronic and photonic devices into a single chip.
The company is headquartered in Toronto with operations in Shenzhen, China, Singapore and Penang, Malaysia.
