POET Technologies adds two directors as longtime board member exits

POET Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: POET) appointed Dr. Bardia Pezeshki and Jean F. Rankin to its board of directors, effective August 1, 2026, according to a press release from the Toronto-based company. The appointments coincide with the resignation of Jean-Louis Malinge, who served on the board since 2017.

Dr. Pezeshki most recently served as founder, chief executive officer and chief technology officer of Avicena Tech, a micro-LED-based optical interconnect company. He previously founded Kaiam Corporation and Santur Corporation, and held research and development roles at SDL Inc. and IBM's T.J. Watson Research Center. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.

Ms. Rankin currently serves on the board of InterDigital, Inc., where she chairs the Compensation Committee. She previously served on the board of Resonant, Inc. and held executive roles including general counsel at LSI Corporation and Agere Systems Inc. She holds a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

In connection with their appointments, each new director received 21,460 restricted stock units under the company's 2026 Omnibus Incentive Plan. The RSUs will vest on June 26, 2027.

Malinge's resignation was cited as being for personal reasons. POET Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Suresh Venkatesan acknowledged Malinge's nine years of service on the board.
