Optex Systems appoints Lionel Liebman as director of optical engineering

Optex Systems Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: OPXS) announced the appointment of Lionel Liebman as Director of Optical Engineering, according to a company statement.

Liebman brings over 30 years of experience in commercial and defense optical systems. He will lead efforts to enhance existing products and support development of new technologies at the Richardson, Texas-based manufacturer of precision optical sighting systems.

The new director holds four patents in fiber optics, photonics, lasers, and ladar technologies, and specializes in electro-optic/infrared systems. He previously served as Senior Manager of Optical Engineering at Raytheon and held leadership and engineering positions at Lockheed Martin.

Liebman earned a Bachelor of Science in Optical Engineering from the University of Arizona.

"Lionel's experience will strengthen our technology development and support our continued growth in the defense market," said CEO Chad George.

Founded in 1987, Optex manufactures optical sighting systems and assemblies primarily for Department of Defense applications. The company's products are installed on various U.S. military land vehicles, including Abrams and Bradley fighting vehicles, Light Armored and Armored Security Vehicles, and the Stryker family of vehicles.
