NexMetals Mining Corp. (TSXV: NEXM) (NASDAQ: NEXM) announced the appointment of Warwick Morley-Jepson to its board of directors effective January 8. Morley-Jepson will serve as co-chair of the board's newly formed Safety, Sustainability and Technical Committee alongside Philipa Varris.
Morley-Jepson brings over 40 years of mining industry experience across precious and base metal sectors. He spent seven years at Kinross Gold Corporation, advancing from Regional Vice President to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, overseeing global operations and project development. He later served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Ivanhoe Mines.
Since 2017, Morley-Jepson has held board positions at multiple mining companies. He served seven years at Wesdome Gold Mines as Chairman of the board and Interim Chief Executive Officer.
"The addition of his significant experience in project development and mine operations around the world is especially well-timed as the Company proceeds to optimize the path forward for its Selebi and Selkirk assets," said Paul Martin, Chairman of the Board.
NexMetals focuses on redeveloping the former Selebi and Selkirk copper-nickel-cobalt-platinum group element mines in Botswana. The company has confirmed mineralization scale exceeds historical estimates through NI 43-101-compliant resource estimates. Current activities include down-hole geophysics, drilling, and metallurgical programs aimed at expanding resources and supporting economic studies.
The information is based on a company press release statement.
