Newron proposes two new board directors ahead of April meeting

Newron Pharmaceuticals S.p.A. (SIX: NWRN, XETRA: NP5) announced that George Garibaldi and Paolo Zocchi are proposed for election as independent, non-executive directors at the company's annual general meeting scheduled for April 23, 2026.



Patrick Langlois and Luca Benatti will step down from the board after extended service periods. Langlois served as a board member for 18 years, while Benatti, a company founder and former CEO, served as a non-executive board member for 14 years.



Garibaldi brings over 30 years of experience in central nervous system drug development across pharmaceutical and biotech industries. He co-founded StutterSenseAI Therapeutics and serves as Chief Medical Officer at Synendos Therapeutics. Previously, he co-founded Noema Pharma and led teams at Hoffmann-La Roche, Janssen, and Novartis that advanced treatments for primary progressive multiple sclerosis, schizoaffective disorder, and autism spectrum disorders.



Zocchi is a former International Senior Partner at Ernst & Young, where he worked for more than 35 years in senior leadership roles. He has experience in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors, having worked with companies including Sanofi, Bayer, and several early-stage biotech companies. During his career, he coordinated more than 15 initial public offerings across Italy, the United States and Europe, supporting companies in raising more than $3 billion on global capital markets.



The complete agenda for Newron's annual general meeting will be published on March 24, 2026, along with the company's 2025 full-year results and 2026 outlook. The Milan-based biopharmaceutical company focuses on developing therapies for central and peripheral nervous system diseases.
