NLIGHT adds Gerald Haines to board with defense tech background

nLIGHT, Inc. (NASDAQ: LASR) appointed Gerald Haines to its board of directors as a Class I director with a term expiring at the company's 2028 annual meeting of stockholders, according to a company statement. Haines will also serve on the audit committee.



Haines brings more than two decades of executive experience in aerospace and defense, advanced manufacturing, and other technology sectors. He most recently served as chief financial officer of Metabolon and previously held the CFO role at Impulse Dynamics.



At Mercury Systems, Haines served in multiple senior leadership positions including CFO and head of corporate development. His career also includes executive roles at Verenium, Enterasys Networks, and Applied Extrusion Technologies. He holds a J.D. from Cornell Law School and a B.S. in Business Administration from Boston University.



"Defense technology is a sector where the combination of financial and legal expertise and insight are critical inputs to inform strategic decisions," said Scott Keeney, nLIGHT's chairman and chief executive officer.



The Camas, Washington-based company provides high-power lasers for directed energy, optical sensing, and advanced manufacturing applications. nLIGHT employs approximately 800 people with operations in the United States, Europe and Asia.
