NASDAQ NUTANIX adds former Intel CTO Greg Lavender to board

Nutanix Inc. (NASDAQ: NTNX) announced the appointment of Greg Lavender to its board of directors, effective September 17, 2025, according to a company press release.

Lavender brings over 40 years of experience in software, cloud, artificial intelligence, and enterprise infrastructure. He most recently served as chief technology officer at Intel Corp. from June 2021 to June 2025, where he led the Software & Advanced Technology group, Intel Labs, Intel Tiber AI Cloud, Intel IT and Information Security.

Prior to Intel, Lavender held the position of senior vice president and chief technology officer at VMware Inc., where he worked on the company's multicloud and modern applications strategy. His career also includes senior leadership roles at Citigroup Inc., Cisco Systems Inc., and Sun Microsystems Inc.

Lavender holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science from Virginia Tech and a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Georgia. He began his career in academia as a professor of computer science.

"Greg has a deep engineering background with experience from both the vendor and customer perspective," said Rajiv Ramaswami, president and CEO of Nutanix. "He is a technology visionary who has a strategic understanding of the tech stack, generative AI and other modern, cloud native-based applications, as well as a practical knowledge of how to best serve customers."

Lavender currently serves on the board of Arista Networks Inc. His expertise spans large-scale systems, cybersecurity, and platform engineering.

Nutanix operates as a hybrid multicloud computing company, serving more than 29,000 customers worldwide with its unified software platform for running applications and managing data.
