Monopar Therapeutics (Nasdaq: MNPR) has added three commercial executives to its leadership ranks as the clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company prepares for a potential launch of its Wilson disease treatment, ALXN1840, pending FDA approval.
Nicole Sweeny, former Chief Commercial Officer of KalVista Pharmaceuticals, was elected to Monopar's Board of Directors at the company's Annual Meeting of Stockholders on June 22, 2026. The company also appointed Sharon Funk as Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, and Daniel Olmstead as Senior Vice President, Market Access, Distribution and Patient Services.
Funk previously held a role in the commercialization of LUMRYZ at Avadel Pharmaceuticals, which was acquired by Alkermes in the first quarter of 2026. Olmstead previously worked on product launches at Ardelyx and Akebia Therapeutics.
"This is a pivotal time for Monopar as we advance ALXN1840 toward an NDA submission and prepare for a potential commercial launch," said Susan Rodriguez, Chief Commercial and Strategy Officer of Monopar.
Monopar plans to submit a New Drug Application to the FDA for ALXN1840 in mid-2026. The company describes ALXN1840 as a first-in-class Albumin Tripartite Complex activator for Wilson disease treatment.
