Marsh McLennan adds Bruce Broussard to board of directors

Marsh McLennan (NYSE: MMC) appointed Bruce Broussard to its board of directors, effective immediately, according to a company statement. The appointment brings the board to 12 directors.

Broussard brings over 30 years of experience in healthcare organizations. He served as president of Humana starting in 2011 and as chief executive officer from 2013 to 2024. Prior to Humana, he was chief executive officer of McKesson Specialty/US Oncology.

Broussard joined US Oncology in 2000, which was later acquired by McKesson Specialty. During his tenure, he held various leadership roles including chief financial officer, president, chief executive officer and chairman of the board.

He currently serves on the boards of directors of HP Inc., Cleveland Clinic and One Call. Broussard also holds leadership positions in The Business Council and the American Heart Association's CEO Roundtable. He chairs the board of directors of the Trust for the National Mall, a nonprofit partner of the National Park Service.

H. Edward Hanway, chair of Marsh McLennan's board of directors, said the appointment "underscores our commitment to enriching our Board with broad industry expertise."

John Doyle, president and CEO of Marsh McLennan, said Broussard "brings a wealth of knowledge in the insurance and healthcare sectors, along with valuable leadership experience as a Chief Executive and Financial Officer."

Marsh McLennan operates across four businesses: Marsh, Guy Carpenter, Mercer and Oliver Wyman. The company reported annual revenue of over $24 billion and employs more than 90,000 people globally.
