MSC Industrial appoints Reuben Slone to board as independent director

MSC Industrial Supply Co. (NYSE: MSM) announced the appointment of Reuben Slone as an independent member of its board of directors, according to a company statement.
Slone previously served as executive vice president of supply chain at Advance Auto Parts Inc. from 2018 to 2023. Before that role, he spent six years as senior vice president of supply chain management at Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc., where he managed supply chain operations and oversaw the integration of nearly 2,000 acquired Rite Aid stores and three distribution centers.
"Reuben brings a deep understanding of supply chain excellence along with a strong track record unlocking operational improvements and creating value across various C-level roles at public companies," said Mitchell Jacobson, chairman of MSC's board.
Slone holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Michigan and currently serves on the board of American Tire Distributors. He authored "The New Supply Chain Agenda" in 2010.
MSC Industrial Supply distributes metalworking and maintenance, repair and operations products across North America. The company operates with approximately 2.5 million products and employs over 7,000 associates.
