Laser Photonics adds Qing Lu to board as audit committee chair
Laser Photonics Corporation (NASDAQ: LASE) appointed Qing Lu to its board of directors, the company announced. Lu will serve as one of four independent directors and chair the audit committee, replacing Carlos Gonzalez in that role.
The appointment fills one of two newly created board seats following an expansion from five to seven members. Lu currently serves as chief financial officer at Addition Financial Credit Union in Orlando, where she oversees a $1 billion investment portfolio and leads merger and acquisition activities for the $3 billion institution.
Lu previously held CFO positions at Farm Credit West, now AgWest Farm Credit, where she managed treasury and finance operations for a $10 billion lender, and Northwest Community Credit Union in Eugene, Oregon, where she managed a $200 million investment portfolio. Her earlier career included roles at the University of Oregon Foundation, PeachHealth Medical Group, Edward Jones Canada and Siemens Ltd. in China.
She holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Wuhan Institute of Technology, an MBA from Simon Fraser University and a Master of Accounting from the University of Oregon. Lu is a licensed CPA and CTP, has passed Levels I and II of the CFA Program, and speaks multiple languages including English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish and Japanese.
"Qing brings a rare combination of financial acumen, global operating experience and strategic discipline that aligns directly with our long-term growth agenda," said Wayne Tupuola, chief executive officer of Laser Photonics.
Orlando-based Laser Photonics develops industrial laser systems for cleaning, cutting, engraving and marking applications across aviation, automotive, defense, energy, maritime and space sectors.
