LB Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: LBRX) appointed William Kane and Rekha Hemrajani to its board of directors effective as of the pricing of its initial public offering on September 10, according to a company statement.

Kane brings over 30 years of biopharmaceutical leadership experience to the board. He currently serves as president and CEO of Uniquity Bio and previously held executive positions at Anthos Therapeutics, Karuna Therapeutics, BioXcel Therapeutics, Allergan, and Pfizer. At these companies, he participated in launching therapeutics including Namzaric, Vraylar, Ubrelvy, Zoloft, Zyrtec, and Celebrex.

Hemrajani currently serves on the boards of ALX Oncology, BioAge Labs, and MaxCyte. Her previous executive roles include CEO of Aravive, chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Arcus Biosciences, COO of RAPT Therapeutics, and CFO of Sagimet Biosciences. She also led licensing and mergers and acquisitions at Onyx Pharmaceuticals and business development at Exelixis.

The appointments come as LB Pharmaceuticals prepares to advance its lead product candidate, LB-102, into Phase 3 clinical trials for acute schizophrenia and Phase 2 trials for bipolar depression. LB-102 is an oral small molecule and methylated derivative of amisulpride that the company positions as a potential benzamide antipsychotic drug for neuropsychiatric disorders.

The company reported positive data from a four-week Phase 2 trial in patients with acute schizophrenia in early 2025, showing statistically significant benefit versus placebo at all doses studied.

LB Pharmaceuticals is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing therapies for schizophrenia, bipolar depression, and other neuropsychiatric diseases.
