KinderCare appoints David Barse to its board of directors

KinderCare Learning Companies, Inc. (NYSE: KLC) has appointed David Barse to its board of directors, effective Aug. 3, 2026, according to a company press release.
Barse is the founder and chief investment officer of DMB Holdings, a family office, and the founder of XOUT Capital, an index provider for the ETF industry. He previously served as chief executive officer of Third Avenue Management, a global value investment firm, for 25 years. He also formerly served on the board of Better Home and Mortgage Company (BETR).
Tom Wyatt, chairman and chief executive officer of KinderCare, said Barse "brings an exceptional combination of strategic leadership, financial expertise, and governance experience that will strengthen our Board as we continue executing our long-term growth strategy."
Barse holds a juris doctor from Brooklyn Law School, a bachelor's degree from The George Washington University, and completed an executive education program at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
KinderCare, headquartered in Lake Oswego, Oregon, operates more than 2,700 early learning centers and sites across 42 states and the District of Columbia.
