IonQ adds two board members with finance and tech backgrounds

IonQ (NYSE: IONQ) has appointed Dr. Eric Ball and Timothy Baxter to its board of directors, according to a company statement.
Dr. Ball brings nearly 40 years of senior financial experience at public companies, including AT&T, Cisco, and Flextronics. He spent 10 years as Senior Vice President and Treasurer at Oracle, where he arranged $52 billion in financing and participated in M&A teams for more than 100 acquisitions. He holds a PhD in Management Economics and has taught at three universities.
Baxter served as Chairman of the SkyWater Technology board of directors until IonQ completed its acquisition of that company. He has more than 40 years of experience in technology, including senior roles at AT&T, Sony, and Samsung, where he served as CEO of Samsung North America.
"Eric and Tim bring complementary insights and firsthand expertise to our Board and leadership team," said IonQ Chairman and CEO Niccolo de Masi.
IonQ is headquartered in College Park, Maryland, and provides quantum computing services across cloud platforms.
