Instacart appoints Chris Rogers as board chair following Simo resignation

Maplebear Inc. (NASDAQ: CART), which operates the Instacart grocery delivery platform, announced Chris Rogers has been appointed as chair of its board of directors, effective November 24, 2025.

Rogers succeeds Fidji Simo, who resigned from her position as chair and board member on November 21, 2025. Simo had continued serving as chair following her earlier resignation as chief executive officer and president to facilitate a leadership transition.

The company stated that Simo's resignation was not due to any disagreement with the company or matters relating to its operations, policies, or practices. Following her departure, the board reduced its size from ten directors to nine directors.

"I'm incredibly grateful to have served as Chair of Instacart's Board of Directors, and am stepping down following Chris Rogers' successful transition to CEO," Simo said in the announcement. She currently serves as chief executive officer of Applications at OpenAI.

The leadership change represents the completion of an executive transition at the grocery delivery company, with Rogers now serving in both the chief executive officer and board chair roles.
