Heron Therapeutics appoints Thomas Cusack to board of directors

Heron Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ: HRTX) announced the appointment of Thomas Cusack to its board of directors, effective October 27, 2025. The appointment was made pursuant to a cooperation agreement between the biotechnology company and Rubric Capital Management LP dated August 8, 2025.
Cusack brings more than 20 years of experience in investment management and corporate finance. He served as managing director of Starboard Value LP from 2011 to 2025, working at the New York-based investment fund that manages approximately $9 billion in assets. At Starboard Value, Cusack evaluated investment opportunities, developed operating strategies and worked with boards and management teams on performance improvement and corporate governance matters.
Prior to Starboard Value, Cusack worked as an investment banker at Barclays Capital and Lehman Brothers from 2006 to 2011, focusing on mergers and acquisitions in the technology, media and telecom sectors. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance and accounting from New York University's Leonard N. Stern School of Business.
