Gyre Therapeutics adds three directors to its board

Gyre Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: GYRE) announced the appointment of three new members to its board of directors, effective August 1, 2026, according to a press release.
The new directors are Yue Xiong, Ph.D., the company's Chief Scientific Officer; Maxwell Kirkby; and Claire Weston, Ph.D.
Dr. Xiong will serve as a Class I director with a term expiring at the 2028 annual stockholder meeting. He has served as Gyre's Chief Scientific Officer since May 2026 and previously held the same role at Cullgen, Inc. before its merger with Gyre. He is a former professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has published more than 200 peer-reviewed research articles.
Kirkby will serve as a Class II director with a term expiring at the 2029 annual stockholder meeting and has been appointed to the Compensation Committee. He is co-owner of Huang and Kirkby Pharma Consulting, which he co-founded in May 2024. He previously held senior roles at Bristol-Myers Squibb, Amgen, and AstraZeneca, with experience spanning drug development in China, Japan, the U.S., and Europe.
Dr. Weston will serve as a Class III director with a term expiring at the 2027 annual stockholder meeting and has been appointed to the Audit Committee. She is the founder and CEO of Tactus AI LLC, an AI healthcare company she has led since January 2025. She previously founded Reveal Biosciences Inc., which was acquired by CellCarta Biosciences in May 2021.
Gyre Therapeutics is a San Diego-based biopharmaceutical company focused on small-molecule therapeutics, with operations in the United States and China.
