Gold Hart Copper Corp. (TSXV: HART) has appointed Alejandro Vásquez Montero to its Technical Advisory Board, according to a company statement.

Vásquez brings experience from several large copper mining operations. He most recently served as VP Operations and General Manager of the Los Pelambres Mine for Antofagasta Minerals. Prior roles include Vice President of Teck Resources overseeing South American operations, and a position at BHP's Escondida Copper Mine in Chile. He also served as Vice President of Mining at Compañía Minera Doña Inés de Collahuasi, where he oversaw operations at the Collahuasi Copper Mine. Earlier in his career, Vásquez spent 12 years at ExxonMobil Chile and a decade with Anglo American.

CEO Isaac B. Maresky said the appointment reflects a shift in focus: "The time has come to add an engineer specialized in exploitation. Mr. Vásquez will be focused on two key priorities, namely strategic relationships with major miners and evaluation of exploitation opportunities."

Vásquez stated his experience has been centered on "large-scale open-pit mining in major copper porphyry deposits" and cited potential for "strategic partnerships and hopefully even the possibility of advancement towards exploitation in some cases."

Gold Hart Copper holds mineral properties in Chile where the Maricunga Gold Belt meets the Vicuña Copper Belt. The company states its properties are 100% controlled and not subject to royalties, and that it is fully funded for a planned drill campaign.
