Global Water Resources appoints Christa Steele to board

Global Water Resources, Inc. (NASDAQ: GWRS) appointed Christa Steele to its board of directors, effective January 1, 2026. Steele will succeed Debra G. Coy, who will resign from the board at year-end to focus on family and other interests.



The board will maintain seven directors following the transition, with four serving as independent directors. Steele brings more than two decades of leadership experience as a CEO, executive, and board member across public and private organizations.



Steele most recently served as interim CEO of BALCO Holdings, the parent company of Bay Alarm, Bay Alarm Medical and BALCO Properties, which employs 1,200 people and generates approximately $300 million in revenue. Previously, she was president and CEO of Mechanics Bank until its acquisition by a subsidiary of Ford Financial Fund.



The executive currently serves on the boards of Deep Isolation Nuclear and Tanimura & Antle. She also serves as audit committee chair at The Doctors Company, a medical malpractice insurer.

Steele holds an MBA from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts from California State University - Sacramento. She has been recognized by the National Association of Corporate Directors and was twice selected by the San Francisco Business Times to its Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business list.



Global Water Resources owns and operates 39 systems providing water, wastewater, and recycled water services primarily in growth corridors around Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona.
