GigaMedia appoints Ying-Chih Liao as non-executive director

GigaMedia Limited (NASDAQ: GIGM) announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Ying-Chih Liao as a non-independent non-executive director, effective January 30, 2026.

Liao holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from National Taiwan University and a Master of Laws degree from Harvard Law School. He previously worked as a practicing attorney at a law firm, specializing in international corporate finance, commercial corporate matters, and mergers and acquisitions.

Since 2006, Liao has worked at Chailease Holding Co., Ltd., where he currently serves as senior executive vice president and chief strategy officer.

With Liao's appointment, GigaMedia's Board now comprises seven members, with more than a majority serving as independent directors.

GigaMedia is a Singapore-registered company headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan, that provides digital entertainment services in Taiwan and Hong Kong. The company focuses on mobile games and casual games development, distribution and operation.
