Gap Inc. adds venture capital founder Kirsten Green to its board

Gap Inc. (NYSE: GAP) announced the appointment of Kirsten Green, founder and managing partner of venture capital firm Forerunner, to its board of directors, effective immediately, according to a company press release dated Sept. 15, 2026.



Green founded Forerunner in 2012 and has since led the firm to invest in more than 100 companies, including Warby Parker, Chime, and Hims & Hers. The firm has raised nearly $3 billion from institutional investors.



"Kirsten has a demonstrated ability to anticipate shifts in consumer behavior, meet customers where they are, and translate those insights into meaningful business opportunities," said Richard Dickson, president and CEO of Gap Inc.



Mayo A. Shattuck III, chair of the Gap Inc. board, said Green's "experience partnering with businesses as they evolve and scale will add an important dimension to our Board."



"Gap Inc.'s brands have an extraordinary place in people's lives and in culture," Green said. "I'm honored to join the Board and contribute to the company's continued growth."



Gap Inc. operates the Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic, and Athleta retail brands.
