Gaming and Leisure Properties adds Michael Borofsky to board

Gaming and Leisure Properties Inc. (NASDAQ: GLPI) appointed Michael Borofsky to its board of directors as an independent director, effective immediately pending regulatory approvals. The appointment expands the board to eight members, with seven considered independent under Nasdaq listing standards.

Borofsky founded Mithrandir Ventures, a family office with investments in gaming, healthcare, software and climate technology. The company stated his focus involves building cash flow generating businesses and helping companies adopt emerging technologies.

Before founding Mithrandir Ventures, Borofsky served as General Counsel at Gryphon Investors, a $9 billion private equity fund with 36 portfolio companies. He previously held executive positions at the Pohlad Companies and spent 16 years at MacAndrews & Forbes, Ronald O. Perelman's investment vehicle. His earlier career included roles at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and Goldman Sachs.

Borofsky earned a bachelor's degree from Yale University and a law degree from Columbia University School of Law, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.

Gaming and Leisure Properties operates as a real estate investment trust that acquires and leases properties to gaming operators under triple-net lease arrangements.
