GXO Logistics Inc. (NYSE: GXO) announced Brad Jacobs will step down as non-executive chairman effective December 31, 2025, with Patrick Byrne assuming the role.
The transition occurs after what the company describes as a period of transformation that included appointing CEO Patrick Kelleher, hiring additional senior leaders, adding seven independent board members and obtaining regulatory approval for GXO's acquisition of Wincanton.
Jacobs stated he had committed to serving three years as chairman following GXO's spin-off and remained for more than four years. "The company is stronger than ever, and the leadership team is well-positioned to drive GXO's next chapter of growth," Jacobs said.
Byrne joined GXO's board in July 2025 and brings over 30 years of experience in digital transformation and operational leadership. He previously served as CEO of GE Digital and senior vice president of operational transformation at General Electric, with prior roles at Fortive, Danaher and Tektronix.
Byrne currently serves as non-executive chair of Diebold Nixdorf and chair of Verra Mobility. He previously served as an independent director at Micron Technology.
GXO describes itself as a contract logistics provider with over 150,000 employees across more than 1,000 facilities totaling over 200 million square feet. The company is headquartered in Greenwich, Connecticut.
