Fury Gold Mines appoints Phillips Baker as independent director

Fury Gold Mines Limited (NYSE American: FURY) announced the appointment of Phillips S. Baker Jr. to its Board of Directors as an independent director, effective immediately.

Baker brings nearly four decades of mining experience to Fury. He served as Chief Executive Officer and director of Hecla Mining Company from 2003 until his retirement in 2024. During his tenure at Hecla, Baker led the company's development as a silver producer in the U.S. and Canada through a portfolio of long-lived assets.

Baker has experience in gold mining operations worldwide, including the Casa Berardi gold mine in the Eeyou Istchee Territory in Northern Quebec's James Bay region. He served as Chair of the Board for the United States' National Mining Association from 2017 to 2020 and has held officer or director roles at numerous public companies since 1990.

Fury Gold Mines is a Canadian exploration company operating in two mining regions across Canada and holds an 11.3 million common share position in Dolly Varden Silver Corp, representing 12.9% of issued shares.
