First Lithium names Deepak Varshney to its board of directors
First Lithium Minerals Corp. (CSE: FLM) (OTC Pink: FLMCF) (FSE: X28) has appointed Deepak Varshney to its board of directors, replacing Ernest Mast, who is stepping down due to other business commitments, according to a company statement.
Mast has served on the board since 2021 and will continue as an advisor to the company.
Varshney is a professional geologist with more than 15 years of experience in mineral exploration and development. He currently serves as CEO and director of Formation Metals and has raised more than $75 million for exploration companies over the past three years. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Geosciences from Simon Fraser University.
The appointment comes as First Lithium plans its inaugural drilling campaign at its Ascotan project, located at the Salar de Ascotan in the Antofagasta Region of northern Chile. The project covers approximately 6,400 hectares of mining concessions, where two property-wide geophysical surveys have identified priority exploration drill targets for potential brine mineralization.
First Lithium is a Canadian mineral exploration and development company also exploring for gold at its 100%-owned Lidstone Gold Project, comprising 9,600 hectares of mining claims in northwestern Ontario, Canada.
