Ernexa Therapeutics (NASDAQ: ERNA) has appointed David Polinsky to its board of directors, according to a press release from the Cambridge, Mass.-based cell therapy company.

Polinsky currently serves as chief financial officer of Rafael Holdings, where he oversees finance, legal, corporate strategy, and governance. He previously co-founded Cornerstone Pharmaceuticals, formerly known as Rafael Pharmaceuticals, where he held roles including president and general counsel, helping build the company from an early-stage startup into a clinical-stage oncology company.

At Rafael Holdings, Polinsky was involved in the company's 2018 spin-off as an independent NYSE-listed company, its 2025 merger with Cyclo Therapeutics, and a roughly $25 million rights offering.

Ernexa said the appointment comes as the company prepares to submit an Investigational New Drug application for its lead program, ERNA-101, in the third quarter of 2026, with a Phase 1 clinical study initiation planned for the fourth quarter of 2026. ERNA-101 is designed to activate the immune system to target cancer cells, with an initial focus on ovarian cancer.

"We are entering one of the most important periods in Ernexa's history," said Sanjeev Luther, president and chief executive officer of Ernexa Therapeutics, citing preclinical data generation, manufacturing advances, and IND preparation as recent milestones.

Polinsky holds a juris doctor from Fordham University School of Law and a bachelor of arts from Yeshiva University. He also holds the CFA Institute Investment Foundations Certificate and has completed executive education programs at MIT Sloan School of Management and Columbia Business School.
