Erin Schaefer, ex-Google executive, joins Roundtable board
Roundtable (NASDAQ: RTB), an AI and decentralized finance-powered media operating system, announced that Erin Schaefer has joined its Board of Directors, according to a press release and a Current Report on Form 8-K filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Schaefer spent 14 years at Google, where she held roles including Managing Director of Global Operations at YouTube and Managing Director of Global Brand Advertising Strategy. She also led Americas video advertising, which she said grew into a $10 billion-plus global revenue business. After Google, she served as Chief Operating Officer at venture capital firm General Catalyst, which manages more than $43 billion in assets under management, and as General Manager at Niantic Games.
Schaefer holds a B.A. in Political Science from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
"My entire career has been about using technology to help passionate voices build sustainable businesses, from YouTube creators to the brands that support them," Schaefer said. "Professional journalism deserves the same."
Roundtable CEO and Founder James Heckman said Schaefer "adds a rare combination of transformational technology leadership and major brand relationships."
Roundtable describes its platform as integrating distribution, publishing, monetization, community, syndication, and decentralized finance payment operations for professional and major media brands.
