Eric Jackson joins ProCap Financial board following business combination

ProCap BTC announced that Eric Jackson has been nominated for election to the board of directors of ProCap Financial, the company resulting from a proposed business combination with Columbus Circle Capital Corp I (NASDAQ: BRR).

Jackson will serve alongside Anthony Pompliano, CEO of ProCap BTC, and other board members upon shareholder approval. The appointment becomes effective when the business combination is completed.

Jackson founded and serves as president of EMJ Capital Ltd, where he manages a technology-focused hedge fund. He previously held leadership roles at SpringOwl Event Driven Partners and founded Ironfire Capital LLC in 2008. Jackson holds a Ph.D. and master's degree in strategy from Columbia Business School and a B.A. in English from McGill University.

ProCap BTC describes itself as a financial services firm leveraging bitcoin. The company has raised more than $750 million from investors across traditional finance and the bitcoin industry. The business combination with Columbus Circle Capital aims to create ProCap Financial, which plans to offer financial products and services.

The announcement comes as part of proposed transactions that include the business combination, a private placement of preferred units, and convertible note offerings. ProCap Financial has filed a Registration Statement on Form S-4 with the Securities and Exchange Commission in connection with these transactions.
