Eos Energy Enterprises (NASDAQ: EOSE) announced that Russ Stidolph will step down as non-executive chair of the board of directors on December 31, 2025, to focus on AltEnergy Acquisition Corp. Joseph Nigro will succeed Stidolph as non-executive chair effective January 1, 2026.
Stidolph served as chair since April 2018, and his firm AltEnergy has been an investor in Eos for eleven years. He guided the company from early-stage research and development through its NASDAQ listing and growth into a manufacturer of zinc-based battery energy storage systems.
"I am proud to have played an integral role in guiding Eos from an early-stage research and development company into a scaled leader of stationary energy storage," Stidolph stated in the announcement.
Nigro joined the Eos board earlier in 2025 and brings over three decades of experience in the energy sector. He previously served as chief financial officer of Exelon Corporation and chief executive officer of Constellation, a former Exelon operating company.
The company reported it has deployed over 5 GWh of operations in the field. Eos manufactures zinc-based battery energy storage systems in the United States for utility-scale, microgrid, commercial and industrial applications.
"Joe's deep expertise across energy markets, finance, and large-scale operational execution makes him the right leader to guide our Board at this pivotal stage," said Joe Mastrangelo, Eos chief executive officer.
The leadership transition occurs as the company continues to scale production to meet demand for long-duration energy storage systems.
