Elastic nominates ex-Microsoft executive Julia Liuson to its board

Elastic (NYSE: ESTC) has nominated Julia Liuson, a former Microsoft executive, to its board of directors, according to a company statement. The nomination is subject to a shareholder vote at the annual general meeting scheduled for October 2026.

Liuson spent more than three decades at Microsoft, joining in 1992 as a software design engineer. She became corporate vice president of the Developer Division in 2012 and president of the Developer Division in 2021. In that role, she led strategy for developer tools and the Azure developer platform, and oversaw GitHub, including the development of GitHub Copilot.

She currently serves on the boards of Cadence Design Systems and private company Wanderboat.AI, and is a board observer at Schneider Electric SE. She holds a bachelor's degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Washington and was inducted into the Women in Technology International Hall of Fame in 2019.

If elected, Liuson will also serve on the company's Compensation Committee.

Separately, Elastic said board member Caryn Marooney will not stand for re-appointment following the expiration of her term in October 2026.

"Caryn has been a truly valued member of our Board and a trusted advisor to Elastic as we have grown from a startup to a multi-billion dollar infrastructure technology company," said Ash Kulkarni, CEO of Elastic.
