ECARX names Lone Fønss Schrøder as board chairperson

ECARX Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: ECX) appointed Lone Fønss Schrøder as chairperson of the board of directors, effective immediately, according to a company statement.

Schrøder, a Danish citizen, joined ECARX's board as a director on October 31, 2025. Her appointment separates the roles of chairperson and chief executive officer. Ziyu Shen continues as CEO and remains on the board.

The new chairperson brings experience from leadership roles across automotive, technology, finance, logistics, and industrial sectors. She served as vice chairperson of Volvo Cars from 2018 to 2025 and was a director from 2010. She currently serves as a director of Ingka Holding B.V. (IKEA Group) and holds chairperson positions at GSHAB and Ikano Bank. In June 2025, she became chairperson of Geely Sweden Holdings.

ECARX stated that Schrøder's leadership reinforces the company's European market presence and aligns with its goal of generating 50% of revenue from global markets by 2030.

"I am honoured to take on this role at ECARX, a true pioneer in software-defined vehicles and intelligent mobility," Schrøder said in the statement. "I look forward to working closely with Ziyu, the Board, and the leadership team to guide ECARX's next phase of global growth."

CEO Shen said the appointment enhances governance clarity and supports the company's mission to become a leader in automotive intelligence. He noted that Schrøder's experience will be valuable as ECARX expands its central computing, cockpit, and advanced driver assistance systems solutions across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.

Founded in 2017 and listed on Nasdaq in 2022, ECARX operates 13 locations across eight countries and has over 1,400 employees. The company's products and services are found in approximately 11 million vehicles worldwide.
