Dyne Therapeutics names Vikram Karnani to board of directors

Dyne Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ: DYN) announced the appointment of Vikram Karnani to its board of directors. The clinical-stage company focuses on neuromuscular disease treatments.



Karnani serves as chief executive officer of Collegium Pharmaceutical, a position he has held since November 2024. Collegium operates as a biopharmaceutical company with portfolios in pain management and neuropsychiatry.



Prior to Collegium, Karnani worked at Amgen as executive vice president and president of global commercial operations and medical affairs for rare diseases, where he led the integration of Horizon Therapeutics following Amgen's $28 billion acquisition. During nearly a decade at Horizon Therapeutics, he held multiple senior executive roles including president of global commercial operations and chief commercial officer.



According to the company's statement, Karnani contributed to Horizon's growth from $500 million to more than $3 billion in revenue. Earlier in his career, he served as vice president of the therapeutics and cell therapy business at Fresenius Kabi and held leadership roles in strategy and business development.



Karnani holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Mumbai, a master's degree in electrical engineering from Case Western Reserve University, and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.



Dyne operates clinical programs for myotonic dystrophy type 1 and Duchenne muscular dystrophy, with preclinical programs for facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy and Pompe disease. The company anticipates its first potential product launch in the first quarter of 2027.
