DexCom CEO takes medical leave, COO named interim leader

DexCom Inc. (NASDAQ: DXCM) announced that Chief Executive Officer Kevin R. Sayer will take a temporary medical leave of absence effective September 14, 2025.
The company's board of directors appointed Jacob S. Leach, currently president and chief operating officer, to serve as interim principal executive officer while maintaining his existing responsibilities. Mark Foletta, the board's lead independent director, was named interim chairman.
Both Leach and Foletta will not receive additional compensation for their interim roles, according to the company statement.
Sayer has served as both CEO and chairman of the board at the continuous glucose monitoring device manufacturer. The company did not provide details about the nature of Sayer's medical condition or the expected duration of his leave.
