Defence Therapeutics appoints Dr. Sarkis Meterissian to advisory board

Defence Therapeutics Inc. (CSE: DTC) (OTCQB: DTCFF) (FSE: DTC) announced that Dr. Sarkis Meterissian resigned from the company's board of directors to join its Scientific Advisory Board.



Dr. Meterissian serves as Director of the Breast Center at McGill University Health Centre and Head of the MUHC Breast Tumor Site Group. He had been on Defence's board of directors for five years before the transition.



The Scientific Advisory Board currently includes Rob Leanna, PhD, Danny Chui, PhD and Brendan Hussey, PhD. The Montreal-based biotechnology company develops precision intracellular drug-delivery technologies.



"Sarkis has been a strong believer in Defence's ACCUM platform since day one, and now more than ever he wants to be more deeply involved in bringing it to the clinics for the benefit of patients," said Sébastien Plouffe, Chief Executive Officer.



The company also granted 150,000 incentive stock options to employees and consultants. The options vest immediately and are exercisable at 58 cents per share for five years from the grant date, according to the company's omnibus incentive plan terms.



Defence Therapeutics focuses on cancer treatment using its Accum precision drug delivery platform to enhance the potency of antibody-drug conjugates and other biologics at lower doses.
