DMC Global appoints Sharon Spurlin to board of directors

DMC Global Inc. (NASDAQ: BOOM) announced the appointment of Sharon S. Spurlin to its board of directors. Spurlin brings more than 30 years of executive-level financial leadership and boardroom experience in the energy and industrials sectors.



Spurlin currently serves as senior vice president and treasurer at Plains All American Pipeline, where she oversees fixed-income capital market activities, banking and rating-agency relationships, financial planning and analysis, and treasury operations. Plains All American Pipeline is engaged in the transportation, storage and marketing of crude oil and natural gas liquids across the United States and Canada.



She serves on the board of AdvanSix Inc., a chemical company, where she chairs the compensation, leadership and development committee. She also serves as a director at Smart Sand, Inc., a frac and industrial sand supplier, where she chairs the audit committee. Previously, Spurlin was chief financial officer of petrochemical company PetroLogistics LP, where she led the company's initial public offering.



Her career includes senior finance leadership roles at PL Midstream and American Ref-Fuel Company, as well as audit leadership positions at Arthur Andersen. Spurlin earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Texas A&M University–Kingsville and is a Certified Public Accountant in Texas.

DMC Global operates manufacturing businesses including Arcadia, a supplier of architectural building products; DynaEnergetics, which serves the energy industry; and NobelClad, which addresses industrial infrastructure and transportation sectors. The company is based in Broomfield, Colorado.
