DEFSEC Technologies names George Weber as Vice-Chairman

DEFSEC Technologies Inc. (TSXV: DFSC) (NASDAQ: DFSC) announced changes to its board of directors ahead of its fiscal year 2027, which begins October 1, 2026.

George Weber, former chairman of Calian Group Ltd. (TSX: CGY), has joined the board as Vice-Chairman. Weber previously served as Secretary General and CEO of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, as well as Secretary General and CEO of the Canadian Red Cross. He concluded his tenure as Calian's board chair in February 2026.

David Luxton has transitioned from Executive Chairman to Non-Executive Chairman. Weber replaces Paul Fortin, who is retiring from the board after joining when DEFSEC first went public in 2021.

Sean Homuth, President and CEO, said in the press release that Weber "adds substantially to our domain knowledge at the board level as we plan expansion into public safety markets in FY 2027."

DEFSEC also announced it is presenting at the H.C. Wainwright 28th Annual Global Investment Conference, held September 14-16 at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel in New York.
