Connect Biopharma adds Jim Schoeneck to board of directors

Connect Biopharma Holdings Limited (NASDAQ: CNTB) expanded its board of directors from six to seven members and appointed Jim Schoeneck as a director effective July 22, 2025, according to a company statement.
Schoeneck brings over 40 years of experience in developing and commercializing medicines and guiding companies through transformation. He currently serves as chairman of the board at FibroGen, Inc. and Calidi Biotherapeutics, Inc. He previously served as chief executive officer and board member at Depomed, Inc., BrainCells Inc., ActivX Biosciences, Inc. and Prometheus Laboratories Inc.
The company is developing rademikibart, an antibody designed to target IL-4Rα for the treatment of acute exacerbations of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Connect Biopharma is conducting Phase 2 Seabreeze STAT studies with clinical data expected in the first half of 2026.
"His deep expertise in drug development and commercialization will make him an invaluable asset as we continue to build a proven team of industry experts to rapidly advance the development and commercialization of rademikibart," said Kleanthis G. Xanthopoulos, chairman of the board.
Schoeneck previously served as chairman of the National Board of Directors of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America and began his career at Rhone-Poulenc Rorer Inc. He holds a bachelor's degree from Jacksonville State University.
Connect Biopharma, headquartered in San Diego, California, focuses on developing treatments for inflammatory diseases. The company has an exclusive license and collaboration agreement for rademikibart with Simcere in China.
